Yes, I said two weapons, but don't worry they can both shift and adapt into a variety of guns and explosive launchers. #Hard reset redux upgrade#You'll need to pick up green items to get more health, orange items to gain experience to upgrade your weapons and abilities, and red and blue items to add ammunition to your two weapons. Hard Reset takes places at some point in the future in a setting that may or may not be Earth, and it's your job to go through the Blade Runner-esque environments and kill every robot you see. That being said, boy howdy is Hard Reset fun to play. Things are hinted at, but nothing made much sense, and everyone seemed to be at peace with that. It felt like I was reading a book with the first and last chapters removed. In fact, there wasn't much in the story that was properly explained or revealed. There were no hints that I was near the end of the game other than the boss battle I had just finished, and all sorts of nothing was resolved in the story. It was at this point that the credits rolled, and the game was over. Not the least of which is the fact that during my playthrough of the game for this review, it was hinted that something very cool was about to happen, and I became excited for what I thought was going to happen next. The $29.99 PC exclusive Hard Reset is easy to enjoy while you're playing it, but once you start to think about how the game is put together the flaws begin to stand out. ![]()
